Highland is a city in Utah County, Utah and is located north of Utah Lake and at the edge of the Mount Timpanogos of the Wasatch Range. Highland is situated along Utah State Route 74 and Utah State Route 92, which connect to Interstate 15. Highland is located about 30 miles from Salt Lake City and 15 miles from Provo.

Highland is a growing suburban community in a beautiful location with excellent municipal services and community resources and centers. There is a large array of churches of different congregations in Highland, including many belonging to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

According to the 2004 census, Highland has a population of more than 12,000 people. The city has a total area of 7.0 square miles with a population density of over 1,500 people per square mile. It is located an elevation of over 4,900 feet above sea level.

The racial demographics of Highland are predominately white, composing about 97% of the total population.

Highland has more than 1,800 households, many of them wealthy. The median income for a household and a family in the city is over $80,000.

Highland is served by the Alpine School District and is home to Freedom Elementary School, Highland Elementary School, Ridgeline Elementary School, Mountain Ridge Junior High School, Ken Koop High School. The Highland City Library provides additional educational resources to the community.

There is plenty of space for recreation in Highland with multiple city parks and the nearby The Fox Hollow Golf Club (formerly the Tri City Club) that includes 18 hole golf course, pro shop and large clubhouse.

Utah County is located in northern Utah and is surrounded by six other counties of Tooele, Wasatch, Juab, Sanpete, Carbon, and Duchesne. Although Utah County lies about 20 miles south of Salt Lake City, the county is not part of the Salt Lake City Metropolitan Area. Interstate 15 cuts right through the Utah Valley, allowing convenient road access for most of the county's communities locally, as well as up north to Salt Lake City.

Utah County paints the image of a modern and rapidly growing suburban communities, with an array of new homes, parks, schools, recreational facilities, businesses, infrastructures, and much more. The light colored buildings surrounded by green foliage, mountains and Utah Lake create a stunning atmosphere that's present through most of Utah County.

According to the U.S. census of 2000, Utah County has a population of more than 368,000 people, and is rapidly growing. The county has a total area of 2,141 square miles with 143 square miles of water.

Utah County is home to more than 35 total communities, many of them cities and towns, with some unincorporated areas. The county seat is Provo, the largest city in the county and third largest city in Utah with a population of over 117,000 people. Additional large cities in Utah County include Orem, the sixth largest city in the state of Utah with over 84,000 residents.

The most notable geographical feature of Utah County is Utah Lake, largest natural freshwater lake in Utah covering 96,900 total acres right in the middle of the county. Utah Lake is a major recreational area in the county, offering water sports, including boating, sailing, water skiing, and fishing. The main marina for Utah Lake is located in Utah Lake State Park.
